DIY: High Chair Makeover

This high chair belonged to my adorable, almost 5 year old, little cousin Lauren. My Grandma found it at a yard sale and paid $5.00 for it. The inside cushion was either misplaced or thrown away over the years.

So, Grandma and I sat out on a mission to make a cushion. I found these two old seat cushions out in one of her storage sheds. Turns out these were the cushions that my Great Grandma used on her patio for years until she bought new ones.

I wanted a fabric that would match my kitchen/living room, and that was totally "Heather-ish." I found this gorgeous print at Hobby Lobby, on sale for $4.00 a yard. I only needed one yard. SCORE.

We were in somewhat of a hurry so Grandma wouldn't let me sew it. She said she could do it MUCH faster. Yea, I get your point, I'm slow. LOL. Practice makes perfect, but I don't know if I will ever be as good as my Gma!
Is it bad that I COVET her amazing sewing machine??

Only a super mom....

Oh my UN-organized goodness!! The cold winter season came to town and that's when the storage shed under our carport got crazy. It got to the point that you could not take even one step into the room. Here's the before. I know, embarrassing!

I put Khloe down for an afternoon nap and turned into the Tasmanian Devil! One and a half hours later, this shed was finally coming around to my stamp of approval.

Everyone always asks me how I can just go out to my shed and FIND paint. This is why. I have 35 one-gallon paints, 9 pint colors and about 20 cans of spray paint. What's sad is that in storage shed #2 there are more paints packed away. I didn't have the time or the mood to open that can of worms on this day.

My personal Home Depot. This is ONE good thing the Jackson Whitworth house brought us. Tools, tools and more tools. Oh, and paint.

I could not MOVE my arms for two days after this project. Little momma needs to get in shape! ; )

A day's work, all in one nap time. ONLY a super-mom!!! :)
